Lindsborg Water Department: Interesting fact, Lindsborg gets it’s water from a well field located 6 miles southwest of Lindsborg. Three wells pump water into a 100,000 gallon stand pipe located near the wells. The water is piped into town via a 14” PVC waterline that is a little more than 8 miles long. At one point the waterline actually goes under the Smoky Hill River. There is enough difference in elevation between the country stand pipe and the city water tower that no pumps are needed to move the water in the pipeline, gravity does all of the work.
