Mayor Shultz and City Administrator Tanner Faust presented the official Purple Heart City sign to American Legion Post 140 on Wednesday evening.
Back at the November 3, 2025 council meeting, the City of Lindsborg was proclaimed a Purple Heart City. The Purple Heart was the first American Service award of decoration made available to the common soldier and is specifically awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces who have been wounded or paid the ultimate sacrifice in combat with a declared enemy of the United States of America. August 7th is now recognized as Purple Heart Recipient Recognition Day to show appreciation for the sacrifices Purple Heart recipients have made. The Purple Heart City signs will go up at each entrance into town.
