The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.
East Lincoln Street Improvement Project Grading
Proposal – Council reviewed a proposal to remove dirt and lower the grade
in the right of way in the 400 block of East Lincoln Street. The work was not
included in the original contract nor was it specified in the bidding documents
or plans. There has been a buildup of dirt at the back of the curbs that has
increased the grade to 6 inches to 9 inches higher than the back of curb. A
proposal from Vogts Construction was to bill the work on an hourly basis for
equipment that was in use to lower the grade. The cost breakdown on the
equipment is $75.00 and hour for a backhoe, $45.00 an hour for a skid loader
and $60.00 an hour for a dump truck. The cost of the work would not exceed
After review of the proposal Councilwoman Betty Hunter made
a motion to approve the proposal from Vogts Construction to remove the dirt and
lower the grade of the right of way in the 400 block of East Lincoln in an
amount not to exceed $6,000.00, with the cost of the work to calculated on an
hourly basis of $75.00 an hour for a backhoe, $45.00 an hour for a skid loader
and $60.00 for a dump truck. Motion was seconded by Councilman Ken Sjogren and
passed on a 7-0 roll call vote.
Adjournment – Lloyd Rohr moved to adjourn the
meeting. Motion seconded by Gary Shogren and passed. Meeting adjourned at 5:46 p.m.
